Why Become a Member?

The Friends of Banner Mountain is dependent upon Membership donations in order to continue to provide valuable services to the community. Your annual donation, coupled with a “Powered Up” pledge, are vital to the future of our volunteer and member supported organization.
 

Your annual $25 contribution provides:     

• Education and safety programs: To reduce the potential of catastrophic wildfires, and ensure safe evacuation, on Banner Mountain and elsewhere in the Sierra Nevada foothills.

• Informational activities: To protect the biological diversity and health of Banner Mountain forests and waterways and the safety of its residents.

• Opportunities to promote, preserve, and conserve: To protect Banner Mountain’s water resources, recreational amenities, cultural resources, and historic canals.

• Guidance: To promote and support educational activities that reduce crime, vandalism, and wildlife depredation on Banner Mountain and elsewhere in the Sierra Nevada foothills.

• Communication alerts: To provide access to a community specific website, facebook page, periodic email newsletters, and other communications on current and future issues affecting the Banner Mountain area.

• Support of Hiking Trails:   To ensure the development and use of open trails on Banner Mountain.

• Members Only Benefits: Value- add services limited to our members. This includes discounts at local business, an annual coordinated neighborhood chipping program, and member specific information sharing.

• Administrative Support: To address fees charged by vendors to provide Friends of Banner Mountain social media platforms, email performance diagnostics, membership drive mailings, annual meeting venue rental, and similarly required costs of conducting business on behalf of members.
